Soho Shopping Look With Monica Link

soho 2Shopping in New York City’s trendy Soho requires, style, patience and comfortable clothes. Before walking out of the door, I grabbed my favorite new gold sunglasses from H&M. The gold frames are a great compliment to any style.

The spring weather in NYC has been  windy and at times a little cold, so I grabbed my go-to Banana Republic black tank with lace trim to stay on trend but keep warm. I fell in love with the printed Max Studio skirt on a previous shopping trip and decided it was a good day to wear it for the first time.

Supporting local New York City-based designers is important to me so I wore a pair of earrings I purchased from Florian Jewelry. I met the owners of the brand at a street fair near Central Park.

Accessories have always been my favorite part of putting a look together since a nice accent piece can go a long way. I wore a Necklace from Perry Street to add a little bling and glam to the look. I had the good fortune of getting in the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale.

soho 3I grabbed the red leather clutch to add a pop of color to the look. I passed by my super high heels in order to withstand the miles of walking downtown along Soho’s cobblestone and brick lined streets. I decided to grab a pair of metallic silver flats from Banana Republic. The brand make the most comfortable shoes with lots of cushion. I’m a firm believer in using what you have. The unpredictable spring weather proved that this was a good idea. The wind picked up, so I’m glad I had my favorite jacket on hand so my shopping day went uninterrupted. To top off the look I wore my favorite red lipstick from Clinique. I also grabbed my favorite bracelets from Alex and Ani and a Fossil watch.
